DRAMAtical Murder is a visual novel game developed and published by Nitro+Chiral. Released for Windows PC in 2012 there was a sequel titled Dramatical Murder re:connect a year later. A violence toned down edition with the intimacy removed called Dramatical Murder re:code was released for the PlayStation Vita on October 30, 2014.
A manga written by Nitro+Chiral and illustrated by Torao Asada was released in 2012. Published by Enterbrain in B's-Log Comic it is currently at two volumes. A ten chapter within one volume anthology was released in 2012.
An anime adaption was released Summer 2014 by studio NAZ. It was produced by Avex Entertainment, Nitroplus, and DIVE II Entertainment then licensed by Sentai Filmworks. There was a thirteenth bonus episode titled DRAMAtical Murder: Data_xx_Transitory that aired December 24, 2014, which displayed all the bad endings from the game. DRAMAtical murder was also featured in BOY's LOVE Nitro+CHiRAL.
Synopsis[]
The story takes place many years in the future where the game "Rhyme," a virtual fighting game, is incredibly popular and people possess "AllMates," convenient AI computers. Aoba leads an ordinary life, working at a junk shop and living with his grandmother on the Island of Midorijima. Unlike his friends, he doesn't participate in Rhyme, nor does he belong in a gang. However, when rumors of people disappearing spread, Aoba finds himself needing to unravel the mysteries behind the island in order to protect his everyday life.

Aoba Seragaki (瀬良垣 蒼葉)[]
The adopted son of Nain and Haruka Seragaki as well as the twin of Sei. His Allmate is a puppy named Ren. Aoba lives on the East side of Kyuujuuminku with his grandma, Tae. He was conceived from Toue's research, with his brother Sei. Aoba works as a Junk shop Heibon. His voice actor is Atsushi Kisaichi.

Koujaku (紅雀)[]
A childhood friend of Aoba, who used to live on the island with his mother. He returns to the island covered in scars and tattoos. He now works as a very popular hairdresser and leads his own Rib team, Beni Shigure. He often visits Aoba to eat Tae's food. His All-Mate is a red sparrow named Beni.

Noiz (ノイズ)[]
A mysterious man that appears in Aoba's room unannounced. His body is covered in piercings, twenty-four to be exact. He continues to show his technological prowess by hacking into the security system in Platinum Jail and instigating a drive-by Rhyme game with Aoba. He leads his own Rhyme team, Ruff Rabbit, and carries a group of All-Mates hanging on his hips called Usagimodoki, cubes with bunny patterns (real world) that take the form of real bunnies with red boxing gloves in Rhyme.
Apart from his tongue, Noiz has a numbed down sense of touch. This has caused him to enter numerous fights because of his inability to understand physical pain. For that reason, he was abused by his parents and locked in a room for many years, forced to suffer loneliness and isolation. Due to this, Noiz believes that people will not help him unless there is something they can gain in return.
He has a seventeen-year-old brother named Theo, who looks very similar to Noiz in appearance. Theo is perhaps the only one Noiz cares for as much as he does, save for Aoba.

Clear[]
Clear is robot that fell from the sky and into Aoba's life. His old master was Toue and he lived with his brothers α and α2. They were designed to sing "Dye Music", music that brainwashes people, dyeing their brains, hence the name. He has no Allmate and is voiced by Masatomo Nakazawa.
Mink[]
Mink is in charge of one of the most dangerous Rib teams, Scratch which consists of prisoners who broke out.
Ren[]
Ren is Aoba's Allmate, a part of Aoba's mind he pushes back Aoba's desires and ruthlessness, Sly Blue.
Virus[]
Virus is often seen with Trip. Although they appear similar, they are not twins, nor related. His age is unknown, but it has been stated that he is 6 years older than Trip. He's a part of the yakuza and the 'mythical' team, Morphine. He is voiced by Junji Majima.
Trip[]
Trip is like Virus but uses force instead of emotional manipulation. They both used to be experiments in Toue's labs.
Toue[]
The main antagonist of DRAMAtical Murder. His main goal is to take over the island Aoba lives on.
